EVERY December I have to admit, the best part for me is the plethora of Christmas movies to watch! I wish I could LIVE in a Christmas movie!! They just seem to bring out the deep down hope for life and humanity, and the potential for joy in everything. There are just so many I love that it would be impossible to pick just one as a favorite – and of course, I discover new one’s each year.
Recently, I watched (for the first time) 12 Men Of Christmas (with Kristin Chenoweth), Merry Daughter Of The Bride (with Helen Shaver) and 12 Dates Of Christmas (Amy Smart) – all over the weekend – and loved each of them!!
Some of my real FAV’s are: The Bishop’s Wife (Cary Grant), Borrowed Hearts, Miracle On 34th Street (both version’s), Last Holiday (Queen Latifah), It’s A Wonderful Life, Home Alone, While You Were Sleeping, Christmas In Connecticut, The Grinch that Stole Christmas …………………………… Oh man – the list could keep going.
Believe it or not, I hate the cold, and these darn movies even make me wish for snow, and lots of it! They also make me wistfully long to live in a small town, or any town really, that celebrates and decorates for Christmas like they do in these movies. (Just picture me lying back with arms crossed behind my head just wishing. Of course, wearing a bright red and super cozy, oversized sweater with a reindeer on the front, surrounded in a endlessly soft black and red blanket with hot cocoa with yep, marshmallows, in one hand. And naturally, a big, blazing fireplace very nearby! Oooh and don’t forget the roasting chestnuts!)
Oh, and then there’s Christmas music too – I love it!! Ah well, enough talk – I have a movie to watch…
Truly best to you all over the holiday season…
